Episode 1

In this first episode, Alan boards in Edinburgh and receives a tour of the train, getting an insight into the workings of the kitchen. He also takes a stroll across the Silver Sands of Morar, which featured in the movie Local Hero, and hears the story of the construction of the West Highland Line’s extension from Fort William to the fishing town of Mallaig.
