Episode 1

On April 26, 1945, a fateful convoy carrying prisoners leaves the Dachau concentration camp. It transports the SS’s special and clan prisoners: 139 people from 17 European countries whom the Nazis believe are “worth more than an entire division.” Aristocrats, clergy, high-ranking military and political officials—including the families of Hitler’s assassins. They were all pawns in a plan that sounded insane but had a method to it: in the face of impending defeat, the SS wanted to entrench themselves in the Alps with what they believed to be their best bargaining chip.
