In south-west London, 86 year-old Veronica comes into St George’s Hospital with an open ankle fracture after a car accident but doctors worry there’s a vascular injury and she could lose her foot. At St Mary’s, Heidi has surgery after a vicious dog attack and 56 year-old plasterer Lee is brought in by air ambulance after a car crash where emergency doctors took over an hour to extract him from the vehicle.
