Overview
Between September 1939 and September 1945, the Second World War claimed 27,000 victims a day. 67 months of struggle during which there were more civilian victims than soldiers, and more victims among the victors than the vanquished. Never had a war been so violent - a war that necessitated the creation of a new word, genocide. At that time, hell was on earth. Along with interviews with experts and witnesses, the series draws on rare and never-before-seen images, and uses animated maps and imaginative infographics. A new look at the Second World War.
