
It recounts, all in archives and in color, two decades of chaos and rebirth, of disillusionment and hope: France from 1944 to 1962. At the end of the war, the French entered the Trente Glorieuses: a contrasting parenthesis during which they will experience the horrors and enthusiasms of the post-war period, the beginnings of industrial modernity, carefree years of social revolution and growth. But the war in Algeria with its attacks and its bloody repression marks a return to an atmosphere of crisis forgotten for a generation.
